A-Level Mathematics
A Level Mathematics is often a prerequisite for entry into many higher education courses such as medicine, accountancy, and STEM. Maths requires logical thinking skills and can be useful in all areas of employment; students who study this subject at university are extremely sought after.
This is a two-year course with compulsory core modules and students will also study Statistics and Mechanics. Students will be issued with individual textbooks; there is an expectation of a significant amount of independent study required to really make progress on this course and to be successful.
Assessment in this course: 100% external examination; two core tests, one applied.
Entry Requirements:
Students need to have achieved a minimum of 6 grades 5-9 incl. English and Maths and should be aiming to achieve a minimum grade 6 in Maths GCSE.
