Spring Term 2019
Friday 5th April 2019

Use of Mobile Phones and Earphones

Last October, we adopted a soft approach when introducing a ban on the use of mobile phones on the school site; any student with a visible phone during social times was requested to turn-off and put it away. This term we have seen an increase in the use of mobile phones by students around school and a reluctance to turn them off and put out of sight whilst in school. Therefore, from the 1st May, there will be a change to the current approach to ensure that phones remain switched off during the school day. Students using mobile phones or with visible phones, headphones or earphones whilst on the school site will now be sanctioned. This could include confiscation for the day or a C3 detention. Please see the Spring Term letter from our Head of School for full details.

Football Final Replay

Last week our Under 14 Girls drew 2-2 in their Coastal Football final against Tendring Technology College, forcing the girls to replay at home this week.
Football Final Replay
The game was again set to be close and the girls did not disappoint! TTC took control with an early goal before CCHS managed to equalise, with a fantastic shot from Kiera, just before half-time.

The action was end-to-end throughout the game, with both teams missing a number of chances to score. Tendring then made it 2-1, before Kiera scored her second, to equalise for CCHS, with just ten minutes to go.
Football Final Replay
As the minutes ticked away, our girls seemed to be in control of the game but were unable to find the back of the net, despite a free kick on the edge of the box and subsequent corner. It seemed inevitable that the final would be decided on penalties. Then, in the dying seconds, Tendring managed to capitalise on a final break down the field and slotted a third goal into the CCHS net to win the match and take the Coastal Schools Under 14 girls’ title.

Well done to all the girls for such an exciting match.
