CCHS Head of School

CCHS Head of SchoolAs a result of the appointment of our Principal, Neil Gallagher, as the Executive Headteacher to both Clacton County High School and The Colne Community School and College, our Vice-Principal, Chris Taylor, has been officially appointed to the role of Head of School at CCHS.
As the Head of School, Chris is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of the school. Neil will be supporting Chris in this role, whilst steering the strategic direction of the school. Both Neil and Chris share the same vision and ethos for all our students and are determined that the school remains focussed on moving forwards and improving the outcomes for the young people in our community. This important appointment ensures stability of leadership and prepares Clacton County High School for the future. As part of the Sigma Multi Academy Trust, we not only work closely with our other trust schools, but also in collaboration with other schools in the area; together we are all determined to raise the standards and aspirations of the young people across Tendring.

Gold for Year 8 Athletics Team

After the success of our Year 7 teams at the Coastal Schools Indoor Athletics championship, our Year 8 athletes were keen not to be outdone by their younger peers when teams from across the district converged on Clacton Coastal Academy for the special athletics meet last week. The girls’ team led throughout the competition to take gold, with Kezia Lower achieving first in speed bounce followed by a team gold in the girls’ 4 x 1 lap obstacle relay. The girls now go through to the Essex finals in Southend on the 14th March.

The boys were also on form but were up against some tough competition. They finished 4th overall, equalling the Year 7 boys last week; Jaiden Smith won the teams’ only gold in the triple jump. Congratulations to them all!
