Spring Term 2019
Friday 11th January 2019

Happy New YearWelcome to our first issue of the New Year with a new look for 2019. We trust that you all had a great Christmas and we would like to take this opportunity to wish our students, their parents and carers a healthy, prosperous and successful year ahead.
Although it is only January, our upper school students are now on the run up to their important BTEC, GCSE and A-Level examinations. This is there last full term before the exams start and 100% attendance is a necessity for all these students.
This term is also important for our Year 8 students, who will be choosing their preferred subject pathways for courses they wish to study in Year 9 and beyond. Year 8 parents and carers should reserve the evening of Thursday, 14th March, to attend the important Parents’ Evening – more information on the pathways process will follow in the coming weeks – watch this space!

Rugby Scholarship for Jack

Year 11 rugby player, Jack Light has been part of Northampton Saints’ Elite Player Development Programme for a number of years and is now set to attend trials with the Eastern Counties rugby squad.
We recently learnt that Jack has been awarded a Sixth Form Scholarship at St Josephs’ Sports College in Ipswich. Last term he attended an interview with the Director of Rugby at the college and underwent academic and fitness assessments, before being offered a place. Jack follows hot on the heels of his older brother Jamie, who was awarded a scholarship to the college in 2017. Jack even had to play alongside and against his brother in an assessed rugby session as part of the selection process!
Jack will continue his studies from September in the St Josephs’ Sports College Sixth Form, as well as focusing on his rugby. Well done Jack!
