Seussical – The Musical – Next Week

Our ‘Arts College’ collaborative production of Dr.Seuss’s Musical “Seussical” featuring characters from his famous stories takes to the school stage next week. Our talented lower school actors, actresses and ‘Fusion’ dancers will be joined on stage by the Tendring Youth Theatre run by Melissa Wenn and The Arts College Juniors - Year 6 students from our Arts College partner primary schools.
Seussical – The Musical
The two performances of 'Seussical' will commence at 6.30pm on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th February. Tickets are still on sale priced £4 and are available from the school’s drama office.

R3 Lottery – Rollover

Due to the snow at the end of last term, the December ‘R3 Lottery’ had to be postponed and was carried over to a double December and January R3 Lottery announced during break last Friday. Prizes totalling £200 were awarded to students who’ve produced exceptional work to win an R3. All the R3’s from December and January were picked out of a hat in the two separate draws. The first three students from each draw won £25 with the following five each winning £5.
Congratulations to all our winners.

Non-Uniform Day for Haiti

Next Thursday will be a non-uniform day in aid of the Earthquake Disaster on the island of Haiti.
Students pay for the privilege of not wearing school uniform for the day - we suggest a minimum of £1 donation. We will continue to collect donations during registration next week and we would like to encourage all students to take part to help raise money for the earthquake victims – pay early so you don’t forget.
REMEMBER – NO DONATION = NORMAL UNIFORM

New Sports Changing Rooms in Use
New Sports Changing Rooms

Work on the new Community and PE changing rooms was concluded in December and, after the internal fixtures and fittings were completed, the building was handed over to the school to use earlier this term. The building was partly funded by the Football Association to promote local football but due to design and funding delays it was on the drawing board for two years before work finally commenced last June. Students are already using the facilities for outdoor activity changing. We now have separate dedicated changing areas for the school’s swimming pool, the gym and for outside activities. The building houses two sets of ‘Home & Away’ changing rooms complete with toilets and showers, a referee’s changing area, a kitchen and communal area.
The new building is located in the corner of the school grounds at the end of G-Block with a new access route created into the school grounds and to the new changing rooms. This allows outside groups access to the changing facilities without having to enter the school grounds. Clacton Leisure Centre and local sports clubs will be using the facilities which are available to hire during the evenings and at weekends.
