Students have the opportunity to be involved in clubs, committees, recreational sport, musical performances, educational visits, charity work and debates. Sigma Sixth offers ongoing careers related support to their students in a number of ways, including visits, taster days and mock interviews. Mentors support and guide students to engage in the enrichment curriculum, and help students to develop personal statements for UCAS or apprenticeships. Students can also drop into the Sixth Form Careers Hub to arrange a careers interview, or to ask for help with applications, CVs and student finance. Sigma Sixth Tendring provides a genuine college experience for the young people in Tendring. With around 500 students, it offers an exciting and diverse experience where staff take a keen interest in each student as an individual. This new sixth form college will enthuse, inspire, challenge and prepare students for the next stage of their life.
Sigma Sixth Tendring - Year 11 Sixth Form Taster Day
Next week, our Year 11 students will spend a day at our new facilities, as part of a Sigma Sixth taster day. This provides an ideal opportunity to experience the new campus, gain an understanding of key stage 5 study, by attending a number of taster lessons in a variety of subjects, and become sixth form students for the day. These young adults will soon consider where they plan to continue their education after their GCSE exams next year. Students who have expressed an interest in apprenticeships or vocational training as a post 16 option, will also spend the day at Sigma Sixth, where they will participate in a day of activities and presentations based on these study pathways. See the Sigma Sixth Tendring website for the latest information and promotional video.
