PROUD - OpportunityHistory on Location

Year 9 and 10 History students recently had the opportunity visit Shakespeare’s Globe theatre and the Imperial War Museum during a visit to London.
History on Location
The students learnt a lot about Elizabethan life, and a tour of the Globe gave them a visual image of what History on Locationtheatre was like at that time.
The students also enjoyed their time at the Imperial War Museum, focusing on World War 1. The various displays, sources of information and imagery brought the conflict to life and helped consolidate the students’ understanding of the Western Front as part of their GCSE History course. The students were a credit to the school and excelled themselves throughout their day learning on location.

Coursework with a Festive Twist

PROUD - UnityLast week, upper school students from our Business Studies and Event Management courses held a special Christmas Fayre for students and staff. There were various target-based games, Christmas Tree Hoopla and Hook-a-Duck, along with a chocolate bar tombola, biscuit decorating, crazy sand and various cake, sweet and savoury stalls for all to enjoy.
Coursework with a Festive Twist
The Year 11 event management students were heavily involved with the planning of the event, along with organising their own stalls, to ensure that there was plenty to do throughout the fayre. They also laid on entertainment with various students singing and playing Christmas songs.
Coursework with a Festive Twist
The Sixth Form business students put their skills to use as they competed against each other to be the most profitable stall in the fayre; offsetting their outlay for prizes against the money that they took.
Coursework with a Festive Twist
All of the students learnt some very important lessons about event organisation and good business strategies, which they are able to analyse and reflect upon as part of their subject coursework evaluation.
