Sports Leaders Praised

PROUD - DiversityLast week a team of eighteen Year 9 and 10 Sports Leaders gained valuable experience, and gathered course evidence for their BTEC Sports Leader qualification, by helping lead a special primary school sports afternoon for students with additional needs. The sports leaders, working in teams, devised and implemented a number of activities for forty visiting students and staff.

They had devised games for the students to engage with and adapted them accordingly, throughout the afternoon, to ensure that they were inclusive and achievable for all the primary students.

School Games co-ordinator Nigel Walker congratulated the sports leaders for their mature conduct, “The sports leaders were really motivated, engaged, and ultra-organised; they worked incredibly well as a team. I have worked with many young leader teams in the county during the last couple of years and the CCHS team were the best I have witnessed. Thank you to them all. The primary children certainly seemed to enjoy the games.”
